Every quarter, the executive team reviews our company financials and accomplishments with the entire family at ProfitFuel and Outrank.com. Last week, we were treated to lunch at the Alamo Drafthouse while reviewing record-breaking performances from the 4th quarter. In addition to answering any questions along the way — at the end of the review portion, as is the norm for quarterly meeting reviews — the floor was opened up for a Q+A session.
CEO David Rubin announced that our sales team made substantial increases in sales and advertising revenue. Bringing on new members to support our rapid growth, the team is now composed of over 80 agents. We also hired a new director of sales who worked with our current team to create a standardized sales script that resulted in the highest conversion rate in company history.
The client services team increased customer retention rates to an all-time high while simultaneously maintaining current accounts as well as managing new sales. They also grew in size, adding 10 new agents and two new managers for support. Additionally, they went through a major restructuring, which included quality assurance initiatives that have improved communication with clients.
That’s not all! Our business development department created association partnerships with 8 new companies. Marketing kept pace with ever-changing requirements of SEO to keep our customers on the front page of major local search engines.
Our mission for 2011 is clear. We will strive to maintain our incredible sales momentum and increase customer retention. We are on the right path, indeed!

The team at ProfitFuel and Outrank.com is raising the bar and breaking records. The sales team had an especially impressive month of performance – signing up the largest number of clients in company history! Our client services team also had a phenomenal month – managing the large number of new clients sales brought in while maintaining their current customers and keeping our churn rate at an all-time low.
Our training department hasn’t had a lack of things to do this month, either. They’ve been busy with the start of a new training class for both our sales and client services teams. We welcome the latest converts who will be joining our ProfitFuel Family.
As for our ProfitFuel home? Well, the office is in the final stages of our build-out. Construction crews have broken through the wall into the new addition and painters have been working day and night to give the building a much deserved face lift. In fact, a guy on stilts just walked by my desk. I suppose he’s got a tall paint order to fill.
And it can’t go without mentioning that we are anxiously awaiting the FuN RoOm remodel. We expect to have our playroom back and host our first happy hour this Friday — with our brand new KEGERATOR.
Our Superhero Sales Squad is rallying back from the trenches of the Arctic tundra that came upon us recently and we are looking towards another stellar month as we leave February in our dust. We’ve set our goals high and we hope to achieve another record-breaker next month!

Twelve employees from ProfitFuel and Outrank.com worked hard throughout the month of November to earn a coveted trip to Dallas to watch the Dallas Cowboys battle their rivals the Philadelphia Eagles.
The winning group included agents from our sales team, client services and staff. They all earned the trip through various contests that ran during the month. The winners received great seats to the game, spending money and round trip transportation to Dallas.
The team left Austin early in the afternoon, making their way to the game – which happened to be the nationally televised NBC Sunday Night Game. They didn’t want to miss out on any of the action on the field! The group didn’t see Chris Collinsworth or Al Michaels…but they did get a close up view of both teams from their seats at the club level!
The game was held at the new Texas Stadium, which will be hosting Super Bowl XLIV in February. The stadium is state-of-the-art for sporting events. One winner commented:
“it was like visiting an alien spaceship – designed for football excellence!”
Holding true to our motto of working hard and playing hard, our winners definitely thought the trip was worth it! The team was treated to a very close game. Unfortunately, Dallas did not win, but the action went down to the last seconds.
Based on the success of this event, we will most likely be planning another trip to Dallas next season!

The Austin American-Statesman announced their Top Workplaces for 2010 on Friday, November 19th, and ProfitFuel and Outrank.com ranked in the Top 10 at number 8!
The survey highlights 118 companies within the Greater Austin area, and the winners ranged from non profits to Fortune 500 Companies! The one quality that all of the companies that were spotlighted had in common was the strong feeling of appreciation and loyalty of their employees!
The survey asked employees to rank their company on issues such as leadership, ethics and how employees were treated. WorkplaceDynamics facilitated the surveys and conducted the anonymous surveys, analyzed the results and came up with the list of the top 75 Austin-area employers, grouped in three categories based on the number of employees.
WorkplaceDynamics CEO Doug Claffey said, “Austin workers were slightly more positive than workers in the other cities where surveys were conducted this year, especially on questions involving managers, work/life balance, and whether they feel appreciated.” One thing is clear from the surveys: Workers care more about intangibles than the size of their paycheck.
Based on the survey feedback from employees, ProfitFuel and Outrank.com had strong showings in Execution, Management and Conditions.

This past week has been a record breaking week at ProfitFuel and Outrank.com! With the roll-out of our new Bootcamp Training Program to a test with a group of our agents, individual and company goals have been smashed, and the excitement about the possibilities continues to grow!
Throughout the last few weeks, top sales agents and leadership have worked hand-in-hand to create a program that has transformed the way that agents interact with potential clients. The new sales tools ensure that agents have the answers to any questions that potential clients may have. Agents also have meetings every morning to ensure that they have the proper mindset to start their day. Best practices are also shared to help teammates maximize their potential.
Agents reset their goals for the month to enable to push themselves to the next level. ProfitFuel believes in paying for performance with an uncapped commission, and this month, many of our agents are experiencing the benefit of that philosophy.
The new program will be rolled out to the rest of the sales floor by the end of the month, and we expect to continue to break records and set new standards. Last Friday, CEO David Rubin and President Jared Slosberg shared the state of company with all employees. They reviewed financials and outlined all of the company’s recent accomplishments and enhancements from the last quarter.

- There have been considerable changes to our rapidly growing Client Services department, which have had very positive effects for our agents and clients.
- The sales team rolled out a new training program that revolutionized the way the agents work with potential clients.
- The company is expanding in physical size by increasing our office space by 7,000 square feet over the next two months.
- There have been multiple improvements to our operational systems to increase efficiencies and quality.
- Dozens of employees are enjoying their new office chairs! More are expected to arrive soon.
The meeting ended with the traditional question and answer session. Our leadership team feels so strongly about this portion of the meeting that we reward the best employee-submitted question with $100.
By the end of the meeting, everyone’s questions had been answered, and the focus was turned towards having a successful fourth quarter.
